About Glasgow YWCA
Glasgow YWCA believes that when women are able to take advantage of opportunities both in life and work, their confidence will increase, their skills will improve and they will be able to create a better future for themselves and their families.
“Building Women's Futures”
Our aim is to help women in Glasgow achieve this by removing barriers to participation such as limited information about what is available to them, and the cost and availabilty of quality childcare. We offer opportunities for exploring learning options and new or transferable skills, addressing and supporting women to overcome low self esteem. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome individuals of all ages and abilities and from all cultures and backgrounds.
Underpinning all of our work are our Mission, Vision and Values:
Mission Statement
Glasgow YWCA enables women, particularly those under 30, to develop their full potential and to participate at all levels of society worldwide. We provide education, training services and supported volunteering opportunities to women in order to raise awareness of, and challenge the causes of, social, economic and political exclusion in society.
Childcare Services Mission Statement
Our aim is to provide a top quality service in a safe, happy and comfortable environment placing clear emphasis on the social and educational welfare of each child as an individual.
Vision Statement
Our vision is that women achieve their potential, particularly in relation to their educational and vocational aspirations through the provision of services that are accessible, inclusive and respectful of their stated needs.
Values Statement
We are an inclusive organisation, welcoming women of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds. We provide equal access to our services for all women.
